Want to learn how to crochet? Or need a refresher because you haven't crocheted in
a long time?
In this class you will learn how to:
- Start a foundation chain row
- Work rows of "single crochet" stitches
- Troubleshoot tension issues and fix mistakes
No previous experience is required. For ages 12 and up.
Ongoing support is always available in the store at any time during our open hours. If you want more extensive help, send us an email at hello@blacksquirrelberkeley.com and we can arrange private lessons. You are also welcome to come to Stitch & Bitch our social crafting group on Thursday evenings from 6-9pm where there is usually casual help available and a lot of fun!
Cancellations/refunds: If for whatever reason you want to withdraw from a class, please do so at least 48 hours before the scheduled start time of the class for a full refund. No-shows and cancellations less than 48 hours in advance of the class start time are not eligible for a refund. Please respect the teacher and your fellow students by not attending class if you are feeling sick or have had a known recent Covid exposure, even if it is within the 48-hour non-refundable window.
Skill Level Required: No prior experience required.
Time: 2nd Wednesday of the month from 6:00 - 7:30 pm.
Location: Black Squirrel Yarns, 651 Addison St, Suite B, Berkeley, California
Cost: $35 per student.
Materials: Students purchasing materials from the shop on the day of class will
receive a 10% discount, but it isn’t required to use materials purchased in store to
take the class. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early if you need to shop for supplies.
Materials Needed:
- Worsted weight yarn in a light or bright color. The label may list the weight (thickness) of the yarn as “weight 4”.
- A crochet hook in the size range of 5.0 to 6.0 mm. The label may list the size as H-8, I, I-9, J, or J-10.
